Tuition fees for international degree-seeking students


Education in France is highly subsidised by the State and is offering internationally recognised degrees at affordable cost. Tuition fees vary according to the programmes chosen.

Enrolment of French-speaking international students for the regular engineering curriculum

Based on an examination of the academic record and an interview.

For admission

In the 3rd year of higher education for holders of a foreign diploma equivalent to the first two years of undergraduate study or holders of the equivalent of a "licence" or bachelor's degree (bac + 2 or 3 - length of studies: 3 years)

In the 4th year for holders of a foreign diploma equivalent to four years of higher education studies (bac + 4 - length of studies: 2 years)

You must pre-register via the Internet (www.polytech-admission.org) between 20 January and 15 April. The applicant's degree course will determine which specialization he can apply for within the Eiffel Group.The single application is then sent to the School or Schools of his choice within the Polytech Group.

Students qualifying for admission will be invited for an interview in one of the Polytech Schools of the applicant's choice in late June or early July.

For certain countries such as Morocco, Tunisia or the Lebanon, the interview may be organised by Polytech Network teaching staff in the applicant's country during June.

A good level of French is required.

  • Registration fees : 533 € a year (2007-2008 rate) except for grant holders
  • Social Security : 192 € for non-grant holders (per year) / 20 € for French Government grant holders (per year)
  • Special Polytech'Lille fees: 173 € for three years of study / 142 € for two years of study

For admission

In the two-year preparatory cycle called "Parcours des écoles d'ingénieurs Polytech" (PeiP) after the secondary school's leaving exam (French "Baccalauréat" or equivalent).

A good level of French is required.
Length of studies : 2 years for the PeiP and then 3 years for the engineering cycle.

  • Registration fees for the two-year preparatory cycle : Around 162 € a year during 2 years except for grant holders
  • Social Security : 192 € for non-grant holders (per year) / 20 € for French Government grant holders (per year)
  • University fees : 21 € (preventive medicine + sport + document postage)

Students admitted for a double degree course with Hohai University, Nanjing and the Nanjing University of Agriculture

Recruitment is organised jointly with the partner universities in China. It involves an application, scientific and language tests and an interview in English in the Chinese partner universities with teaching staff from Polytech'Lille, in April. This is following by an intensive 6-month course in French organised by Hohai University, Nanjing.

Studies in France
  • French courses : From March to August
    • Intensive French course organised by the "Maison des Langues", University of Science and Technology of Lille :
      • 2460 € per participant(f2006-2007). This price is to be paid by each student for a class of 20 students.
      • 3280 € per participant (2006-2007). This price is to be paid by each student for a class of 15 students : 25 hours a week, i.e. a total of 550 hours.
    • Health Care : 189 €
    • Medicare : 80 to 300 €
    • Liability insurance : 15 €
    • Insurance (1st month : compulsory) : 49 €
    • Insurance for accommodation : 20 €
  • First year of engineering studies (third year of higher education)
    • Registration fees: 500 € per year (2006-2007 rate)
    • Social Security: 189 € (per year)
    • Special fees : 142 €
  • Second year of engineering studies (fourth year of higher education)
    • Registration fees : 500 € per year (2006-2007 rate)
    • Social Security: 189 € (per year)

The accommodation, meals and personal expenses are not included in this budget.
Cost of living : about 600 € per month.

Length of studies:
  • 6 months' French, March to August + 2 years' engineering studies at Polytech'Lille
  • 1.5 years of studies at Hohai University, Nanjing or Nanjing University of Agriculture
A dual degree is awarded – the Master's degree from the University of origin + the Polytech'Lille engineering degree following successful examinations.

International students admitted to the "n+i" programme

  • 2 months' intensive French lessons in a language school in Paris, Vichy or Besançon : (more information about the cost on "n+i" website)
  • Transition semester in a partner school which is a member of "n+i", depending on which discipline you choose (more information about the cost on "n+i" website
  • 4th year at Polytech'Lille : 1800 euros
  • 5th year at Polytech'Lille : 1200 euros

The accommodation, meals and personal expenses are not included in this budget.
Cost of living : about 600 € per month.

Degree awarded : "Diplôme d'Ingénieur" de Polytech'Lille (a French national degree that confers the title of Master).

Registering for the "Mastère Spécialisé" in water engineering

Admission based on application and interview for holders of a degree awarded after 5 years' higher education (engineering degree, Master's degree in civil engineering, architecture).
Length of studies: one year
A good level of French is required.

  • Registration fees: per year (2006-2007 rate) : 3500 € + 211 € (university registration fees)
