International involvement

Polytech'Lille is actively committed to developing an international outlook and has set up partnerships with universities in Europe (Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, Romania...), Latin America (Mexico, Peru, Brazil), the United States, Canada, Asia (China, India...), North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, Marocco)... By taking part in exchange programmes (ERASMUS, CREPUQ, BRAFITEC, "n+i"...) or bilateral agreements, the School encourages its engineering students to develop their ability, to adapt, discover other cultures, other working and teaching methods, and to improve their language skills.

Within the Polytech Group, Polytech'Lille takes part to the European "Erasmus placement" work scheme, which allows it to organise placements for its students in European companies and provide them with financial aid towards mobility.

Today, 39 % of graduates from a year-group have spent at least one period abroad on either a half-year or one-year course of study, a laboratory project or a company placement.

Foreign students of some twenty different nationalities attend the school on degree courses or exchange programmes, helping to create an international atmosphere.
Double degrees have been set up with Hohai University in Nanjing and the Nanjing University of Agriculture, and every year this allows 20 Chinese students to come and complete their studies at Polytech'Lille.

Polytech'Lille takes part in the "n+i" programme, which is recognised by embassies, higher education institutions worldwide and companies. This programme is a top level engineering training in two years for international students with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) aiming at an international career. Before joining Polytech'Lille, international "n+i"students may attend a two-month intensive French course at one of the French Language centres accredited by the "n+i" network. Then students will have to attend a specific Transition Semester at one of the "n+i" French partner schools according to the subject area. This semester is a period of linguistic, cultural and methodological adjustment which is tailor-made for international students. After the Transition Semester, students will be welcomed at Polytech'Lille for a 3 semester- training leading to the French "diplôme d'ingénieur" (equivalent to master's degree).
